The short version
This site uses a small number of cookies. The ones needed to make it work are always on. Anything used for analytics or advertising only runs if you agree to it, and you can change your mind at any time.
What a cookie is
A small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember something, such as whether you have already dismissed a banner. Some are set by me, some by the services I use.
What this site uses
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consent preference | ClientFair | Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked again | 12 months |
| Security and load balancing | Cloudflare | Keeps the site up and blocks malicious traffic | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are read. Only with your consent | Up to 24 months |
| Advertising measurement | Meta | Tells me whether an advert led to an enquiry. Only with your consent | Up to 3 months |
Essential cookies
The consent preference and the Cloudflare security cookies are strictly necessary. Without them the site cannot stay online or remember your choice, so they do not need consent and cannot be switched off.
Analytics and advertising cookies
These only run if you accept them. They tell me how many people read a page and whether an advert actually led anywhere. They do not tell me who you are, and I do not use them to build a profile of you.
Changing your mind
Use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page to change your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though blocking everything may stop parts of the site working properly.
Third parties
Where a cookie is set by Cloudflare, Google or Meta, that company is responsible for what it does with the information. Their own privacy notices apply alongside mine. See the Privacy Policy for who those suppliers are and where they are based.
